Debbie Harper has a particular fondness for analyzing financial reports in local government — and still keeps her sense of humor.
It’s more than just a job, performing audits of municipalities in California. Debbie views her role at LSL CPAs as helping government work better for citizens. She is the primary quality control reviewer for the government services team at LSL and one of eighteen partners at the firm. In addition, she serves as the firm’s Learning Director to oversee all technical training. She excels at details and relating to diverse groups, including public officials who her clients must report to on financial year-end results.
Deborah started working as a bookkeeper and controller during college. She received a job offer from LSL before graduation in 2001. She enjoys the process of communicating new standards for government assurance and has a knack for helping local governments implement those changes year after year. She recently served on a special committee within the CalCPA Governmental Accounting and Auditing Committee that wrote a white paper on the new GASB 68 & 71 standards for all accountants and auditors throughout California.
Great Clients for Deborah… are futurists. They like advance notice of new regulations and trends.

Personal: Married to her favorite traveling partner with four kids who all hop in the motorhome and tour the continental U.S. together once a year; they are close to seeing all 50 states.
