Jennifer Tomaszewski, CPA

Jennifer Tomaszewski brings over two decades of experience in both public accounting and municipal government finance to her role as Senior Manager in LSL’s Consulting and Advisory practice. Her career has included key leadership positions across city and county governments, where she has earned a reputation as the go-to problem solver for complex financial, operational, and systems challenges.

Jennifer’s background includes early-career experience in audit and tax at a regional CPA firm, followed by a shift into government finance with the County of San Luis Obispo, CA. Since then, she has held senior roles at the City of Santa Barbara, CA—where she served as Finance Director—and led initiatives for the cities of Santa Maria, CA and Grand Junction, CO. She’s managed everything from ERP implementations and FEMA disaster reimbursement to citywide budgeting, debt issuances, and policy development.

While Jennifer’s public accounting work touched on a variety of industries—including municipal governments, agriculture, the wine industry, and medical organizations—her passion lies in improving financial operations within local government. She’s led initiatives for police and fire departments, community development, utilities, parks and recreation, airports, libraries, and more.

Clients turn to Jennifer for hands-on leadership with ERP transitions, financial cleanups, and process improvements that bring structure, accountability, and transparency to public services. She thrives on helping agencies navigate outdated systems, tackle backlogs, and build future-ready finance departments.

Outside of work, Jennifer enjoys the outdoors—trail running, hiking, skiing, and camping. She spends weekends with her dogs and horse, and loves gardening and cooking. A lifelong runner and nature enthusiast, she brings the same persistence and balance to her professional life as she does to her personal passions.
