Manager

Nicholas Keathley is a Manager in LSL’s Assurance & Advisory department, serving clients in the government sector with a background in school districts, cities, water districts, and housing authorities. He provides assurance and advisory services including financial statement audits under Yellow Book standards, Single Audits, and financial close assistance.

Before joining LSL, Nicholas gained experience in both audit and consulting roles at national accounting firms, where he specialized in serving state and local governments and nonprofit organizations. His background includes financial statement audits, government-wide conversion entries, and hands-on support with financial close and ACFR preparation. His well-rounded perspective helps him guide clients through both day-to-day accounting needs and long-term reporting goals.

Nicholas holds CPA, CFE (Certified Fraud Examiner), and CITP (Certified Information Technology Professional) credentials, and enjoys helping governments through complex accounting challenges—especially by crafting precise journal entries and walking clients through the logic behind each adjustment. His calm approach and technical skills bring peace of mind to clients navigating tight deadlines and reporting requirements.

Nicholas also teaches governmental and nonprofit accounting part-time at the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley, where he earned both his BBA and Master of Accountancy. He is passionate about mentoring future accountants by sharing real-world experience and practical insights.

Outside of work, Nicholas spends time outdoors with his wife and dogs, enjoys grilling and playing tennis, and stays close with his brothers. A fan of Formula 1 racing, he’s a loyal Red Bull Racing supporter—thanks in part to Netflix’s Drive to Survive.
