Ashley Kimpton, CPA

Manager

Ashley Kimpton is a Manager in LSL’s Government Consulting & Advisory department, where she draws on more than a decade of municipal finance experience to help cities and agencies strengthen their budgeting, accounting, and reporting processes. Known for her detail-oriented approach and ability to streamline complex systems, Ashley partners with clients to bring clarity, structure, and long-term planning to local government finance.

Ashley began her career in nonprofit accounting before transitioning to municipal government, serving the City of Dunedin, FL for over ten years. There, she advanced from accounting into budget leadership, overseeing the city’s annual budget development and Capital Improvement Plan across all funds, including General, Special Revenue, Enterprise, and Internal Service Funds. She also prepared and published budget books and business plans, developed long-term financial forecasts, and managed Internal Service Fund allocations for facility maintenance, health insurance, risk insurance, IT services, and fleet operations.

Along the way, Ashley led special initiatives such as implementing new ERP and budgeting systems, improving document controls to reduce financial statement errors, managing FEMA disaster reimbursement for Hurricane Irma, and tracking federal ARPA funds. Her work contributed to the city earning GFOA Budget and ACFR awards. Clients value her hands-on experience from inside city government and her ability to apply those insights to strengthen operations, compliance, and reporting at LSL.

Outside of work… Ashley enjoys golfing with her fiancé, traveling—especially to California from her home in Florida—and spending time with their three dogs, often taking them on golf cart rides around the neighborhood.
