Nick Parkins is a Manager in LSL’s Assurance & Advisory department, where he focuses on government audits and public-sector financial reporting. Most recently, he has been preparing Annual Comprehensive Financial Reports (ACFRs) full-time—helping agencies bring together complex data, meet reporting requirements, and cross the finish line with confidence.

Nick’s background includes auditing governmental entities and related organizations, along with compliance reviews for Tribal governments and casinos. His experience spans financial statement preparation, internal control and audit readiness support, and agreed-upon procedures engagements involving detailed account areas like investments and tax collections.

Nick thrives on the problem-solving side of accounting and is at his best when there’s a puzzle to figure out. He’s assisted clients with implementing numerous GASB pronouncements and has built tools to streamline data extraction and make financial disclosures easier to support. And yes—he may be one of the rare people who actually volunteers to take on cash flows.

Outside of work… Nick is a devoted audiobook listener (usually deep into a fantasy novel), a self-proclaimed cinephile, and an enthusiastic home cook. When he’s not recharging at home, you can usually find him skiing, running, biking, or rock climbing.
