Mallory Carlson, CPA is a Manager in LSL’s Assurance & Advisory practice, bringing over a decade of experience supporting governmental entities through every stage of the audit process—from planning and fieldwork through final reporting. Mallory has worked with a wide range of public sector clients, including cities, school districts, counties, housing authorities, and public utility districts, and is known for her ability to navigate complex requirements while keeping the process clear and organized for the teams she supports.

Mallory provides assurance services focused on financial statement preparation, Single Audit compliance testing, and detailed audit testing procedures, helping clients stay ahead of reporting deadlines and reduce surprises during the audit. She also enjoys serving as a resource on new and evolving GASB standards, offering guidance on implementation, journal entries, and best practices for audit readiness. Mallory is especially passionate about helping clients strengthen their processes by identifying opportunities to improve documentation and internal controls in a practical, realistic way.

Mallory’s passion for accounting started in high school, where her love of math led her to an accounting class—and an encouraging teacher helped her recognize she could truly succeed in the profession. Today, as a CPA, she thrives on learning complex standards and translating technical guidance into clear, actionable next steps that help clients move forward with confidence.

Outside of work… Mallory enjoys staying active with regular workouts, exploring her love of photography, and keeping up with sports—especially football (Green Bay Packers), soccer (Minnesota Loons, Portland Thorns, USWNT, UWMNT), basketball (Golden State Warriors, UNC), baseball (St. Louis Cardinals), and Formula 1.
