The LSL team is excited to be back for our annual LSL GASB Update on Thursday, May 4th, 2023. Get ready for a jam-packed day of training and earn up to 4 CPE credits!

GASB Overview: 91, 94, 100 and 101

LSL Government Services Partner, Ryan Domino, CPA, will cover:

91 – Conduit Debt Obligations | Takes effect: Fiscal year 2023

  • Changes to the disclosure requirements.
  • Situations (although rare!) that can arise when the debt is now the government’s (not the 3rd party’s) and how to account for those transactions.

94 – Public-Private and Public-Public Partnerships | Takes effect: 2023

  • Ensure they are identified properly.
  • Examples of how to account for P3 transactions.

100 – Accounting Changes and Error Corrections | Takes effect: 2024

  • How to properly disclose: Error Corrections, changes in accounting principles, change in the reporting entity and changes in accounting estimates.
  • Plus, when it’s acceptable to do a prior period adjustment and required disclosures if you do one.

101 – Compensated Absences | Takes Effect: Fiscal year 2025

  • Understand what types of leaves makes up compensated absences, how to calculate it, and changes in the disclosure requirements.

Feel like you’re still recovering from implementing GASB 87 for leases? Us, too! So, let’s plan ahead and be more prepared for GASB 96: SBITAs. LSL Government Services Partner, Kelly Telford, CPA and LSL Government Services Senior Manager, Christian Townes, CPA will discuss the technical aspects along with the practical implementation to help your staff feel better equipped this time around.

They will connect the dots for you and provide insight on all of the do’s and don’ts from their journey through discovery (what can/could be automated), implementation (how to automate it), and beyond (train and support staff post-implementation).

 Yes! 4 CPE credits will be provided to those that meet the requirements. If you are watching the presentation virtually via Zoom livestream, you MUST answer ALL of the polling questions to be considered in compliance. 

The Client Training that is mentioned in our contracts is specific to one-on-one training.  Because the GAAT Update is an external function that we are offering to the public, it is not considered training under our current client contract.

Yes! Both the live session & virtual Zoom live stream cost $95 per attendee. Group watching is not permitted. You are able to sign up more than 1 person at a time, but you need to pay for each attendee.
